It's Going to Get Better, Right?

I think we can all agree that 2020 can suck it.
I thought I had gotten my fill of bad news.
But I guess I was wrong.
I find out I lost another fraternity brother.
He had open-heart surgery about a month ago and seemed to be on the road to recovery.
So me and my friends were shocked when we got the news that he passed away.
He left behind family, friends, and lots of good memories.
RIP Jack Besst.
You will be missed.
I am starting to lose track of how many friends I have lost since college.
I guess this is what happens when you get old.
I also found out a good friend of mine is getting a divorce.
It's the best thing for him but it still sucks that he has to go through this.
I need some good news.
Do you have any?

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  2. Ah, that has to hurt. So sorry, Mr. S.

You know the saying "Hindsight is 20/20"? I'm starting to think it's code for everything you said about this year. Hind. Sight. We'll all be happy to put it in the rearview mirror.

Good news? In Nova Scotia we are now advised we can have up to 10 people in our "bubble". Our son-in-law is bringing our two little grandsons for a visit tomorrow - first time since early March. And I hope to see their mama (our daughter), and also our son, soon. Our daughter's fibromyalgia is flaring up big-time so she won't be here tomorrow, but it makes me feel better just to help give her and her husband a break.

Take care, Mr. S. As long as we're waking up on the right side of the grass, there is hope.

  3. I'm sorry about your friend. It is difficult to lose a friend particularly if they are near your age. I wish I had some good news for you. I agree about this year. I am already looking forward to next year - it has to be better, right?

Take care and be extra kind to yourself. You deserve it.

  4. I'm sorry for your loss, and yes the older we get the more people around us die and get divorced.

Good news? I'm allowed to get my hair cut on the 23rd of July.

    Things will get better.

Good news? I made some funky greeting cards on the computer!

    Take care, Bea

  6. My good news: my granddaughter is living with a friend of mine; she will be closer to school. And, she came to visit me.
I am sorry for the bad news about friends; just, don't you go there.

  7. I'm so sorry for the loss of your Friend, yes, getting Older means we often outlive a lot of people and far too many have already gone before me now. I wish I did have good news to share, the closest I can come is we haven't contracted the Virus in spite of spread in our State being Nationally among the highest, which I'm grateful for staying Well so far and keeping The Man and my Granddaughter safe enough with my mitigation efforts.

  10. As someone who is older than you, I'm sorry to tell you that the losses of friends, classmates, frat brothers, etc does not stop. In the past couple of years, it has become a regular sadness.
