Random Acts of Shifeness - Recommendations

  • Show of the week: "Succession." I really, really resisted watching this HBO show because I didn't think watching a show about wealthy people who are horrible would be interesting. It turns out I was wrong. I know. I was shocked, too. But it's pretty darn good.
  • Movie of the week: Kyle and I are watching "The Martian" and I forgot how much I enjoyed the movie. We recently finished the "Star Trek" re-boot so I guess we are into space movies right now. I think the next movie on our list will be"Galaxy Quest."
  • Quote of the week: Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind. – Bernard M. Baruch
  • Hack of the week:
  • Screenshot of the week: It takes all kinds of people to make the world go around.

  • Horrible book of the week: There has to be a better way to say it, right?

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  5. We are huge sci-fi fans. Star Trek, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc. Fun times...
Having a hard time finding stuff to watch now. We did watch 1917 yesterday (not a kid movie for sure). Romeo asked me what I thought and my reply was "the horrors of war". Still, a good movie.

  7. I don't think many folks would know about the odometer thing; in fact, I'm so un-tech I don't even know it that would be possibly possible or if it's a joke! And that book title - Ack!

Good movies and good books are great escapes for this time.

  8. The Martian has been one of my favorite movies of the last 5 years. The book, which I read afterwards, is probably better.

  10. Charlies Shedd was an interesting man. He was also a Presbyterian minister who seemed to be overly interested in sex. I remember his "sex ed" talk back in the early 70s and being so shocked (it was where I learned that folks actually do things with animals). Then, to my amazement, I was called here and learned that he was the founding pastor of this church!
