I am in the deep end.
It feels like a case of the Mondays.
But it's Tuesday.
Did I get a BOGO free when I got my case of the Mondays?
Can I exchange it for a case of chocolate or something?
I have been wallowing about and feeling blah today
It's not self-pity but just general malaise.
A sense of dread, doom, discomfort and displeasure.
Out of d-words.
It has been happening about once a week.
I am not particularly enjoying it but it's my "
If I hear "new normal" again, I might sever ties with the Nigerian prince I recently met.
They have been really supportive during these troubling times.
Besides not wanting to hear that certain phrase ever again, here are some other things I have been missing the most during this lockdown:
- Going to the gym
- Getting a haircut
- Going to the movies
- Meeting up with friends
- Going out to eat
- Live music
- Live sports
- Playing softball
What are you missing the most?

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

Thank you for the great gifs! Love em. But I'm sorry for your blahs. That's no fun at all. I saw a meme that would fit right in here: Yesterday was Monday, today is Monday, tomorrow is Monday, the future is just a never ending Monday . . .
ReplyDeleteWhat am I missing most? Thrift store book shopping. A haircut would be good, too.
But I consider us lucky - we are still working although our offices are closed to the public. And I'm the one from our house who goes grocery shopping (which is both good and bad). So nothing much in my life has changed, except that I sprint through the grocery store a whole lot faster than I used to.
I miss going to the pool the most.
ReplyDeleteIt turns out we here in No. California CAN walk along the beach and even sit a spell without breaking current orders, so I'm still going out to the ocean most days. I see dudes at the beach lifting boulders as if they were lifting dumbbells. Maybe you could go lift felled trees or something? (Only semi-kidding.)
Hang in the there!
I understand your feelings quite well. Plus, I am beginning to fear that I will never again get the days of the week straightened out. I could have sworn yesterday was Friday! There is this constant feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop, if you know what I mean. It is a living in limbo feeling. What do I miss the most? Spending time with my grown kids and grandkids, going out to eat, going to the movies and getting my hair cut which it needs really badly about now!
ReplyDeleteI hope things pick up for you and your lovely family and there are no more broken bones or injuries! Take care!
OMG that gif of the kitty dragging himself down the stairs is a MOOD!
ReplyDeleteAnd I have yet to feel all those Ds. I feel mostly like I don't want to go out where there's bound to be lots of people unless it's absolutely necessary. I like my walks but I don't like going to the supermarket. Too many idiots without masks.
And I miss mostly going to the movies, concerts and museums. I also miss theater.
I was thinking that this year I'll miss going to see the White Socks (a yearly tradition I now have, I know, weird) once or twice.
And a case of chocolate would be awesome.
Really.
XOXO
Oddly enough, the lockdown only encouraged behavior I already did, such as staying at home whenever possible. I miss traveling and live music. I'm hoping all of this doesn't derail the annual Peacemakers show in Atlanta, but I know it will.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, it will end in some fashion soon.
Abby is not sure of all the cats!
ReplyDeleteIt is getting to be ridiculous
Hang in there! Stay well.
xoxo :-)
I'm a hugger....I miss hugging my friends
ReplyDeleteI miss browsing. I'm not a typical, damned old woman browser, but there are stores that must be absorbed for purchases to happen. Take the nursery, for example. It was up the aisle, down the aisle, get what you want and get out. I don't shop nurseries like that. Or thrift stores. Or even my very own, tiny grocery. I.browse.these.stores! Well, I used to.
ReplyDeleteIn a Word 'Malaise' certainly is descriptive of it! How most of us Feel right now... and the Dealing... or NOT Dealing... appropriately with all those Feelings, all those 'D' Words too! I am ROTFLMAO about you perhaps severing ties with your Nigerian Prince and them being so supportive during this time! I actually thought Two Blog Comments might be Trolls and turned out they were real People who became regular Visitors and then I felt kinda bad that I hadn't recognized they were not Trolls or Bots and Thankfully didn't Spam them! Turns out both are very nice people from other Countries who have legit Blogs too. But I highly suspect your Nigerian Prince might not be... just sayin'... but I could be Wrong? bwahahahahahahahahaha! Thank You for the Cat Videos, I Loved all of them!
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful blog! The topics you write about are very close to me. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteI follow you through GFC! If you want, go to my blog :)
MY NEW POST: QUARANTINE NUTRITION AND WORK OUT ♥
We used to go to the movies somewhat often, but don't really miss it much because in my mind there's a scene from the movie 'Outbreak' where a sick guy is coughing out his germs all over the audience ... yeah, no to that. We cue up Netflix and I put a bag of corn in the microwave.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes me sad is that we were going to travel with our kids/grands to see family next month and will have to postpone indefinitely. And also on hold is a vacation for just the two of us. We'll wait and see how things go, no worries, I don't mind being home.
I miss to visit my favorite restaurant.....and walking in the public park everyday.
