T-Minus 3 Days

We are getting closer to the big day.
When I say that, I am reminded of one of my favorite TV characters, Fred G. Sanford.

Since we are getting close, I thought I would share what yours truly has looked like through the years to let you decide if I have indeed aged like a fine wine or more like a meth addict.
Here I am from 0 - 20.

Baby Shife

Me, my Mom and some of my cousins. Besides the fact that I am totes adorbs, the crazy thing about this picture is my Mom wearing shorts. After she had three kids, she quit wearing them.

Hello, ladies. Yes, it's true, blondes do have more fun.

I guess I had too much fun as a blonde and they made me go with brown hair.
My best guess is that I am 8 or 9 in this photo.

I am allegedly 13 in this photo. I was about 5-feet-tall and probably weighed 70 pounds. I didn't play basketball much more after this as I discovered wrestling was more suited to my body type.

This is Mr. Shife as a sophomore in high school. Sweet braces and some sweet feathered hair.

Prom my junior year. That lucky lady next to me was one of my first crushes.
She and I are still friends to this day.

Senior photos. I thought it was a good idea to dye my hair orange.
Believe it or not but my Mom had a completely different opinion about my fashion choices.

Another photo of the orange hair and a date who believed in the power of Aqua-Net.

The hair is back to its normal color but for some reason, I thought a mullet was a good idea.

No mullet now thanks to Uncle Sam. This is Seaman Shife, who joined the Navy after his freshman year of college. It turned out to be a great decision because I wasn't quite ready for university life at 18 and needed some maturity before I was ready to go back to school.

Tomorrow you get the 20s and 30s.

I hope to do better tomorrow.
Stay safe, take care and thanks for being there.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  3. You were an adorable baby.
And your high school dates had all the glorious hair of the eighties! Yes! Pretty in Pink FTW.
I'll have to say that I'm partial to the seaman pic. It's the uniform, I guess.
    Yep. I'm biased.

    XOXO

  5. Teenagers do even more interesting things to their hair these days.
Amazing how a turn through a service is an attitude adjustment.
