T-Minus 11 Days

I want to be a bad dad.

I said bad.
Not naughty.
Kyle and I are watching a show called "Fear Island."
People are searching for evidence of a giant bear that the locals have named Grandfather
The rumor is that this is the largest bear ever to roam the Earth.
He's allegedly still alive on this island in Alaska.
13-feet tall and poops Tonka trucks.
Kyle is trying to make it as spooky as possible when we are watching it by turning out all of the lights and telling me not to scare him.
That's what I want to do badly.
But when he's least expecting it.
Like 3 in the morning.
Crawl under his bed.
Play this sound.

And then be prepared to pay for the therapy bills for the rest of my life.
Plus, he has already been traumatized by bears anyway.
He has seen "The Great Outdoors."

Anyway, I will not do it.
I would never do it.
I just want him to know that I thought about doing it.

I hope to do better tomorrow.
Stay safe, take care and thanks for being there.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. Was that John Candy shootin' at a bear butt? How did I miss that cinematic masterpiece?

  2. The temptations of being a parent! If I heard *that* under my bed at night it would scare the #### out of me even if I didn't see the movie!

  3. haha
    On no, poor Kyle!
I would not do it, though. Be a bad dad.
And what program is this? I'm sorry. I'm totally out of the loop with what's going on on cable tv. Haven't had it forever. I only do Netflix and Hulu and the occasional incursion into Amazon Prime...

  4. I understand. The temptation is too much, but the cost of therapy is so much more.

  5. chortle!
    Bears used to smorgasbord
    thru our garbage on the
    back porch. Our dog never
    said a word...
    stay safe. xoxo

  6. No, you need to save this thought until he is a father of a young son, and you are hanging over the bbq some nice weekend. Then tell him what you didn't do.

  7. No, you don't need to be bad....kids have good imaginations for scary stuff as it is. I used to have a nightmare about a bear coming after me, that's probably why I freaked. Plus, you want to sleep right? That would be over for a good long while.

  8. Sometimes I'm a Bad Gramma, can't help myself, Boredom sometimes overtakes me... besides, this Crew needs Couch Time even if I didn't traumatize them!

  9. I'm glad you decided to be the good dad. Kids need to trust their parents completely.

  10. I've always loved to scare Faith, like jumping out from behind a door or something. I wouldn't go further than that....but I would think about it :)
