T-Minus 24 Days

Nothing like a 6.5-magnitude earthquake to take your mind off the coronavirus.
I don't know if I can handle any more excitement.
March has been one hell of a decade.

Have I mentioned that I certainly picked the wrong month to quit complaining?
Sweet Lincoln's mullet, I am going to be a train wreck if things don't settle down for a bit.

It sounds like there wasn't any injuries or damage but I will know more later and keep you posted.
Talking about an earthquake should be enough blog material but there was some other big news at Casa de Shifley.
Kyle turned 11.

He had a good day despite the fact that we had to cancel his birthday party because of the quarantine.
He heard from family, friends and his second-favorite dog in the whole wide world, Ted.

Before Ted moved to Alabama last year, we watched him for a few months and we all fell in love with the handsome fluff machine but Kyle and Ted were best buddies.

Well if I don't get abducted by aliens and butt probed, I will be back tomorrow.

Take care, stay safe and thanks for being there.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  2. Earthquakes in Idaho?! Oh, man. Side note: I do like the word 'temblor'.

Happy Birthday to Kyle! Eleven is a good age. :)

  3. Wow, that's a pretty good shake-up. I didn't realize how close you are to the west coast. (In my defense, Canadians don't learn a lot (or any, really) about U.S. geography in school, but then again, I've had a half a century to rectify that, so shame on me).

You're right about picking the wrong month to stop complaining!

Happy Birthday to Kyle! He looks like such a good-natured kid - they both do, really. Eleven! Awesome!

  5. Oh my goodness, and a 6.5 one at that! There's just too much hitting this world right now. No, you simply can't take this month to stop complaining. My goodness man, you'd have to be a saint! (Is that it??? Are you a saint?)

Happy Happy Birthday to Kyle! What a special age he is now, not quite a teenager but it's coming Dad! I'm sorry he wasn't able to have a party with his friends. I think all this isolation has to be especially hard for kids and teenagers. I hope when all this is over we can all have the best party ever to celebrate getting through it.

  6. The whole earthquake thing was the perfect way to end a month that felt like a year, right?
Happy bday to fellow Aries Kyle! Hope he can have a full-bday party soon! At least Ted teleconferenced!

    XOXO

  8. First off, Happy Birthday to Kyle! I'm grateful that we don't get earthquakes here in Florida, but hurricane season is only about two months away.
I agree March has been a long month. It's been a long year for me, full of just about everything. Things will get better.

  9. Happy birthday to Kyle! I bet this will be one of the birthday's he will remember. You sound like a clever guy, do a scavenger hunt. Bet Kyle would be right on that. Take care....my mantra is "this will not last forever". I just hope it's sooner rather than later.

  12. Happy birthday, young man.
I wonder if that earthquake was from fracking. I hope you can find out when you get older, and do something about it.
