Random Acts of Shifeness - Drained

Ahhh, just like Batman, I have lost it.
I haven't taken to hanging out in a water fountain in rainbow leggings and arm sleeves.
Yet.
What's going on Mr. Shife you might be thinking.
I was at a pretty intensive work conference last week.
I had work training for 2 days which required a lot of role-playing and talking to strangers this week.
Guess what two activities aren't high on my to-do list?
If you guessed smelling cat farts and giving grown naked men from Eastern Europe baths then you really know me.

But role-playing and talking to strangers are definitely not some of my favorite things to do.
So I am tapped out.
Did I mention Mrs. Shife is leaving this weekend to go visit a friend in Seattle?
Help me baby Jesus.

Seriously, it's all swell. I have it pretty good and I am extremely grateful for the life I have.
Thanks for letting me vent.
Hope you are well and I will talk to you soon.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. We are having fun... T is trying to move
out of a street under construction and go to
Hawaii at the same time. S's car was totaled,
girls are fine. J&C are enjoying the commute
in snow, rain, flooding... best to you all!

  2. The training sounds a bit stressful, to be honest. Glad you survived it. Hope your wife has a good trip to Seattle!

  3. Role-playing and talking to strangers sounds like a kind of hell to me. I'll choose the cat farts and Eastern European things, no question.

  6. I had a week here, too - elderly mom clashing with hospital staff for three days in Emerg. Fun and games, just like you! Role-playing and talking to strangers is at the very bottom of my list of things to do too. Kudos to you for getting through it.

And while Mrs. S is in Seattle, just remember, good air in, bad air out . . . breathe!

  7. Order in pizza and donuts and ease back and enjoy. If you pass on donuts, I'll take the delivery.

  8. Boy I hear ya, not a fun activity. What's great about pet sitting is that you only have to talk to 1-2 people and the conversation is centered around a dog. Then you see those people at drop off/pick up and that's it; the rest of conversing is done online.

  9. Role play is a drag. I've been to seminars (& we've done it at work a few times) and they never fail to stress me out. Sometimes it helps if you wonder how everyone would react if someone farted loudly during a quiet moment. I do that often in class (imagine it that is). :-)
