Mr. Shife's March Madness 2016 - Day 15

Are you familiar with the Sister Hazel song "All For You"?
Well here's the video if you are not.
See you in 4 minutes and 4 seconds or possibly sooner if you think the song is bad.
I like it but then again I have been told that I ain't got the good sense God gave a rock.
I'm all catawampus after looking up idioms yesterday.

When I first started dating Mrs. Shife this was the song that made me think of her.
I don't know if she ever liked it as much I did, but I thought it was our "first" song.
Officially, we have two songs.
"I Cross My Heart" by George Strait was the song that we danced to when I proposed to her, and "Remember When" by Alan Jackson was our wedding song.
If you ever what to see it rain on my face just watch me listen to that song.
Holy cannoli, Alan Jackson gets me on that one.

I have gotten way off task here.
The whole point of this post was to talk about the Sister Hazel song and how my mind works.
Here are some of the lyrics:

Finally I figured out
But it took a long, long time
But now there's a turnabout
Maybe 'cause I'm trying
There's been times, I'm so confused
All my roads, They lead to you
I just can't turn and walk away
It's hard to say what it is I see in you
Wonder if I'll always be with you
But words can't say, And I can't do
Enough to prove,

It's all for you

Specifically how my mind works with this line: It's hard to say what it is I see in you

A rational person would think it's hard for me to say what I see in you because you have a lot of amazing qualities.
However, in my irrational brain, I think it's hard for me to say what I see in you because I'm having a hard time coming up with something.

Thank you Catholic guilt. Always seeing the glass half empty.

I'm working on being more positive, but this is something I have wanted to share for a long time to illustrate how whacko my brain can be sometimes.

That's all.
Thanks for stopping by. Talk to you tomorrow.

P.S. I remembered another favorite saying of mine after all that idiom research that I also wanted to share and end today's post on something funny: Whatever you do always give 100%, unless you're donating blood

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  2. I also love that Alan Jackson song. So heavy with emotion.

  3. I definitely remember that "All for You" song. If I remember correctly, the band was from Gainesville and played clubs here in Tallahassee often,so they tended to play the song a lot more on local radio.

  4. I, of course, never heard that song before. However, I did sit through the whole 4 minutes and 4 seconds so I understand why you like it so much.
