Captain Obvious

I guess life didn't accept the terms of my surrender.
On Saturday, Mrs. Shife got the flu and spent all day barfing or unconscious.
She felt better on Sunday which was fortunate since I had to spend some time away from the house because Tank couldn't put any weight on his back leg.
This scared the heck out of us because of what happened to our previous basset hound, Quincy.
After 4 hours at the vet, it was determined that Tanklin had hip dysplasia and arthritis.
Not the greatest news but a lot better than I feared.
Since I have been focusing on all of the bad stuff that has been happening to us, I guess I invited some more things our way if you believe in the law of attraction.
Give away what you want to receive.
Evidently I need to be more positive.
In my attempt to bring more favorable karma to the Shifleys, I am going to share some these safety signs with you that will hopefully keep you out of harm's way.
I didn't research it too much but I believe the sign's manufacturer is the No Shit Sherlock Company.
Take care, my friends.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. Well you made me laugh so next week should be better for you.

  2. I'm glad the family is doing better. It's never easy when illness is also living with you.
The saddest part of those signs? They wouldn't even be there unless some scumbag lawyer hadn't already successfully sued on behalf of someone lacking common sense.

  3. One of the things I most loved about Mexico when I first started visiting there was the fact that there were no warning signs.
Want to climb the insanely steep, crumbling steps up to the top of this insanely high pyramid? Knock yourself out!
    Etc.
It has changed a bit there, but not that much. And it makes me feel like they respect the fact that I and my fellow humans might have one modicum of common sense.
Which may not be true at all.

  4. Believe it or not, there are a few idiots still left on the planet... and I'm NOT one of them, no matter what people say!

Hope you and Mrs Shife are feeling better and it goes without saying that I wish Tank all the best as he copes with his arthritis. Been there and still doing that.......

  6. Sorry about everyone barfing in Casa De Shife. So long as we're being positive, throwing up sure as hell beats sitting on that fence. I cracked up when I saw that sign.

  7. Hope you're all on your way to healing. My house has been hit too. Oldest is coughing up green goblins, and my youngest has the butt-monkey invasion thing going on.

Thanks for the heads up, by the way. I almost swallowed a hanger for breakfast this morning.
