Pixel Parade

Video #1: Shot in 1988 in St. Louis, this is me and my cousin, who was 12 at the time, rocking out in his backyard. After watching this you will understand why I was a virgin until I was almost 19. Not a lot to do back in the day so I guess you make "rock" videos. Also, I must admit I do an awesome spit take. And Mrs. Shife still wanted to date me after she first saw this video about 15 years ago.

Video #2: Fear the basset. Enough said.

Picture #1: It turns out that Tank was not as curious as George.

Picture #2: For those of you familiar with the movie "A Christmas Story" you will understand why we were calling Hayden "Randy" on this day.

Picture #3: My son. I love him, and it looks like he is going to be a lefty. I am sure the Cardinals can probably use some left-handed middle relief help in about 18 years so if you know a scout with the Cardinals please contact me.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone for their kind words and thoughts on my last post. Tomorrow is the memorial service, and it will be a tough day but I know being with my friends and sharing some laughs and memories about Dave will make it a little easier. I really do appreciate all of you.
Have a great weekend.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  2. Kyle looks so much like you, maybe you can teach him some of your mad guitar skills; with that left handed guitar of course.

We just had a few inches of snow fall tonight but a few days ago we got about 7 inches. Then Chinook winds and a slushfest. So far it hasn't been horrible, just a typical winter and wishing it was spring already.

  3. Love the video of you playing the stick......The kids look so cute and happy. I am so glad we did not have video to play with in 1988. Who knows what would be seen.

You are the salmon that swims up the stream. You are winning.

  4. That is incredibly awesome! We did the same, back in the day. But with tennis racquets. California, you know. Now I am SO wishing we had video!

    Cheers, Shife!

  5. Crikey, Kyle looks like a young version of you. I wonder if he'll develop into a kind, thoughtful, yet fun loving guy, just like his Dad. I hope the memorial day is full of pleasant thoughts about your best friend.

  8. I can't figure out if it's good or bad that you're rocking out to Poison in that video. Of course, my recollection of that era was that was pretty much all they played on the radio.
Thinking back, I'm really glad my family never owned a video camera.

  9. "I can't put my arms down!" Miss Hayden is waaaaayyyy cuter than Randy.
Seriously, I've said it before and its true... I can't help but smile when I see Kyle. Both your kids just grab my heart. Its a joy watching them grow.
Toss in that fat basset and you and the Mrs. have everything in life that anyone could need.
    You rocking out... priceless.
