3 Days and Counting

Did I mention that Kyle likes to climb? Now he also likes to jump from the places he has scaled?
Besides him looking like an awesome dude in his new winter hart, I also like to think of this picture as a metaphor as I just want him to keep climbing and reaching new heights. And fortunately for me, someone with much better writing abilities says how I feel:

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances but they're worth taking
When you come close to selling out reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance I hope you dance
-- I Hope You Dance, Lee Ann Womack

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. That song always brings tears to my eyes. You've got a good attitude about Kyle. Kids love to experiment with their limits. I think its important to let them try. Parents who are so frightened of having a child hurt, that they freak out over climbing, etc, make their children afraid of trying. Good for you for supporting his conquests. Kyle will go far.

  3. I don't recall hearing those words before, but I truly endorse them. Children these days don't seem to have the freedom that we did... what better activity than climbing trees!

  4. Great song from parent to child.

I have a song for each of my kids. Could Not Ask for More for child #1. My Baby You for child #2. And Dare You to Move for child #3. Child #3 has been a total brute before he could even walk.

He loved to climb all over me and still does. So that song always stuck.
