Blah and bleh

Buckle up bloggers it might be a bumpy ride. It is that time of year again when I take stock in my life, reflect, and wonder what the heck I am doing with my life.

I feel like I should be giving back more because I feel very fortunate to have the life that I am living. It happens to me this time of the year because in April I turn another year older. Just go back and look at some of my April entries and you will see what I am talking about. The other night I had multiple ideas and thoughts bouncing around my head trying to figure out how to express in words what I am feeling. Then something came along that expressed it perfectly. “The Kite Runner.”

"We all are not perfect, and we all have done things in our lives that we ultimately want to redeem ourselves for. Or we were not courageous enough or our fear was leading us in another way. And I think so much in our life is led by fear. And in the end it is something beautiful if we can recognize that fear and forgive ourselves for being fearful in certain moments for not standing up. I think if we as human beings would stand up in the name of love and stand up for one another I think the planet would be a much different place. There is a way to be good again."

  1. I agree, somebody blogging the other day said kind of the same thing. "It's not the things that you did that you regret the most, it's the things that you didn't do."

  4. Great quote...
There are a lot I've done in my past that needs redeeming and there is a lot of fear that keeps me from moving forward.

  5. I also get a funny, unsettled feeling like this around Passover every year, which is coming up next week, rather than around my birthday. I think it has something to do with the arrival of spring--how we want to be fresh and renewed and maybe better than we were before...but with those feelings sometimes comes guilt...

  6. Now that's the quote I want at the bottom of my email.

    meant to write more....

The quote, is exactly the rumblings going on with me lately and so much so that I'm completely vexed by it...and I reached for this book because the movie preview looked excellent and I never make time to read the book first before the movie - thought this one would be an excellent start.

I also picked up Into Thin Air - the same guy that wrote Into the Wild. I'll keep ya posted on my blog about them. I hope to have Kite Runner finished by end of month!

    great minds.... :)

I have been bummed and in a funk for the past couple days or weeks whatever comes first. Who cares? damn see what I mean...thanks for putting a voice to it!
    Just love your blog!

  13. Ugh, I hate going through this. There is nothing worse than being able to clearly see the path your life could have taken... and to know that MAYBE that path would have been better.

    "Regrets... Ive had a few..."

    Wait.

Anyways, great quote. I hope you come out of all of this a better person who is excited to be here.

  16. Alright it has been far too long and I guess I can start responding to some of your comments. I got into a bad habit, and I don't know if you have heard but sometimes they are hard to break.

Texlahoma - Great quote. Thanks for sharing.

EM - Birthdays suck now. I used to look forward to them.

BP - I have not heard of Mother but I will look it up.

John - I certainly know the feeling.

Leah - I wish they had some sort of shot like the flu shot they could give you to make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

P - I look forward to that email.

Dr. - I will meet you in Chicago. You can't miss me I will be the one wearing Sex Panther.

Tina - Hope you are enjoying the book. I am on Chapter 8 right now.

R - Well Happy Birthday from me. Hope you have a wonderful day despite the feelings you are feeling.

Jon - Yeah I know. I just prefer my ups and downs between the sheets.

Ron - Thanks for the pep talk.

Jillian - Oh I am happy but I get funky every now and then. I need to quit visiting Funkytown. But they do have a great nightlife there.

IV - I would not mind borrowing it but I would probably end up shooting myself in the foot or something. I will just take it out on my cash and prizes. Beat it like it owes me money.

Suzanne - Sometimes it feels like I am on the Titanic. Thanks for stopping by again.
