Dream It You Dreamers

I had an epiphany this morning while I was enjoying a fruit smoothie after an invigorating jazzercise class. How gay does that sound? Some of you are actually wondering if I did jazzercise, aren't you? Well just between you and me, I didn't, but I did have a fruit smoothie. The whole jazzercise thing was just an attempt at a cheap laugh.
Anyway, if you had the power for one night to reunite or resurrect one band for one show in your hometown, who would it be?
Would you bring back Elvis Presley?
Would you reunite New Kids on The Block?
So bloggers, who would it be. Make your musical dreams come true.

Well, my answer is Guns N Roses. I would love to reunite the original band and see them perform all their shit in one rocking night. It would be awesome.

  1. There was a band in Boston in the 80's called Scruffy the Cat. I would get them together if I could. Not likely, as at least two of them hate each other with the white hot intensity of a thousand hells... Too bad. They were amazing.

Of big, national or international acts? hmmm.... Oh, I got one:

    The JAM!

  2. Yes, nutty, I think most of the originals are still alive. But it doesn't matter because you have the power to bring them back from the dead if you have to.
    Do they still do jazzercise?

  3. Tough question. I'm with you on GNR. I'd say either Jimi Hendrix or Led Zeppelin. Either one is part resurrection, part reuniting.
Just reuniting? The Chaos A.D> era lineup of Sepultura.

  4. The Doors. But, since Jim Morrison died in 1971 at age 27, I'm going to say that I want my powers to make the band members (including the living ones) to return to their prime.

I'd give Jim Morrison a smoothie (and that sounded vaguely pornographic).

It'd have to be Pink Floyd. Without Syd. I would die to go to that concert.

  6. Yes Scarlett it did.
    And dream it you dreamer.

  7. Cheap laugh worked with me!

  8. But can you imagine the amount of skank (I apologize to all females who are offended by the previously mentioned word but I am having guy talk with Vince) that would be at a GNR concert. And drunk skank at that.
You are right though about the panties dropping. Maybe we can get Tom Petty and GNR to play together, and then holy shit, who knows what would happen.

  9. I'd bring back the Beatles. That's it. That's all I've got.

  10. no question. cool and the gang.

  11. Fiona -- I am shocked, and still shocked at your selection. I would have never seen that coming. Very shocking.

Cher -- We are going to celebrate and have a good time.

  12. I would have to say ABBA, or did they ever break up? Just something to think about.
I joined a jazzercise class once because my cousin Sue promised it would be fun. Wasn't fun, I keep missing a beat, had no idea what direction they were going and I got fatter, if that is possible.

  13. The one. The only. The incomparable 2 Skinnee J's.

Those guys rocked my world, and put on three of the best live shows I ever saw. If I could get them together to play a show in my backyard, that would be amazing.

  14. So many bands... Elvis? The Beatles? Zeppelin? Then there's Miss Billie Holiday, Peter Tosh, Sarah Vaughan. But I have to say, honestly, I'd probably pick Zeppelin. They have been with me musically as long as I can remember. PS-- I DID laugh at Jazzercise, and I did wonder... hehehehe

  15. Shife... good question... The Beach Boys. All alive and healthy.

    ReplyDelete
  16. This is a good questions! It would rock to have the gogo's all back together rocking out right? Hmm The beach boys that was a good choice, but I am afraid I am going to be lame. My choice would be Garth Brooks. Yes he retired and makes appearances every now and then, but his music was AWESOME I wish he'd come out of retirement, or do a duets album with Trisha

  17. I would want to reuinite Nirvana. I was going to see them for the first time at the second Lalapalloza tour when it came to the Manchester (Tweeter) center or the old Great Woods as it used to be called.

I was all about Nirvana back in the day, so that would be extra sweet to have them all together again. Ah, to dream.

  18. Armaedes -- I have spent many cruel summers waiting for their return.

Max -- I am not familiar with you band. I will have to do some research.

Phats -- I wouldn't have pegged you as a country fan, not that there is anything wrong with that.

    Beo -- Excellent choice.

  19. Hey, andraste. Did Scruffy the Cat do Moons of Jupiter? I used to love those ... cats.

Be a shame to waste this on a band that didn't have a dead person in it, so ... I'll go with Keith Moon and The Who--provided they don't try to play that Pinball Wizard-shit.

  21. Yeah, t.leach, that was they. Earlier stuff was amazing...I missed most of their earliest gigs because I hadn't turned 21 yet (damn those stupid puritanical blue laws), but once I was in...I was in every freakin' weekend.

Boom-boom-boom Bingo and High-octane revival were Brill!

  28. The Ghostbusters.

If I could just watch their pyrotechnic light show just one more time before I die, I'd be a happy man.

But if the boys in grey aren't availalbe, probably the Smashing Pumpkins
