Sick and tired of all the political bull shit

I apologize in advance for those of you expecting an amusing anecdote from my life but I am about to blow a gasket and I need to vent. What has gotten me so upset? Well I am going through My Yahoo! webpage and I read the story about how Gov. Schwarzenegger plans to veto gay marriages. First my thoughts on gay marriage are simple, I believe people are born gay and if you are fortunate enough to find someone to love and cherish for the rest of your life then you should be able to get married. But what I am really upset about is not the gay marriage but how these conservative groups use all of their time and resources to make sure the gay marriage issue gets veteod. I just think there are a lot of shitty things in this world and two men or two women wanting to get married is certainly not one of them. I just wish these lobbyist groups would focus on more important things that will make more of an impact on our lives like global warming, water conservation, pollution, etc. Maybe they can take their resources and lobby the Bush administration to figure out why citizens in the so-called greatest nation on this planet were living in poverty and couldn't afford gas let alone a car to leave New Orleans in the first place.
That's it I am done. Have a nice day.

This is a very tricky issue, and one that I have tormented over many a time. I started to respond on here, but it quickly turned into a multiple paragraph affair... check my blog maƱana for my full thoughts. I sympathize with your opinion, though.

I agree with what you wrote 100%. If two people love each other they should be allowed to get married no matter what their sexual orientation!

I've some a long way as far as accepting homosexuals, and I'm not quite at the point where I accept gay marriage(maybe it's because I cringe whenever I type or say "gay marriage", I don't know).

I have had gay friends, some of whom were couples, and I am all for them getting the equal rights that married couples have.

I definitely have empathy for gay couples who want to get married, while with many heterosexual couples, marriage means nothing, I coupld see myself coming around on this issue in the future though.

As for global warming, I think people who don't see it as an issue aren't really paying attention. Anyone who lives in the rocky mountains can see that the snow melts earlier every year, comes back later, glaciers are smaller, etc.

Again it is the fear of the unknown. Anti-gay sympathizers obviously have no gay friends, nor know the meaning of love. I

I agree. It pisses me off when conservatives say: it is against god's will for you to fornicate, but you can't get married either. Fuck that. They should be able to get married just like any other person who finds their "once in a lifetime."
