Thought of the day

You may or may not have noticed that I didn't update my blog last week. For the sake of my ego, we will assume you did, and that you've been on the edge of your seat waiting for my return.

Well, I caught a truly miserable bug. I have a strong suspicion it was my old friend "Jonah" (because it rhymes with Corona ... virus), though I didn't get tested to confirm it officially.

The last time I had Jonah over for an extended stay, I was so freakin' exhausted, had headaches galore, and lost some of my sense of taste.
Well, that is exactly what’s been going on for the last week.
I didn't go to medical school or even play a doctor on TV, but it’s safe to say I am comfortable with that diagnosis.

Today is the first day I made it past noon without a nap, so I am calling it progress.

Some other news while I was away:

  • Lucy went to one of Hayden's softball games. It was a little overwhelming for my baby basset, and she was done after one game.

  • We herded cats for a friend for a few days.
  • We lost power for two days because of a gnarly windstorm.
  • The same gnarly windstorm blew my sister-in-law's gate open, and her dog escaped. I just happened to be on the road where the dog was running around, so I saved her. Yay me!
  • Another reason I think I had Jonah is that I left the gas hose attached to my car and drove away. Fortunately, it was one of those pumps that had a safety feature and the hose detached with minimal damage.
Hope you are well.
Talk to you soon.

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  1. Oh I've had Jonah too and coincidentally, also driven away while attached. Sigh. Hope your recovery is swift.

  2. Oh no!
Hope Jonah is mild. Even after having had it, it hits some people hard.
And I would LOVE to be placed in a terrarium and let someone else take charge.

    XOXO

  7. I would 100% live under that rock. Sorry about the bug. I've had it twice and it kicked my ass. Worst part for me is the headache. NOTHING touches it. Nothing.

    Hope you're feeling better soon.

  8. Sorry to hear that Jonah struck again. I hope you are on the mend. I saw someone drive away with the gas nozzle still attached one time. I was worried for the guy. Glad it didn’t cause damage!

  14. Sorry to hear your friend Jonah came to visit. I don't like surprised visits. Take it easy even after you're feeling better, this thing has a way of coming back again soon. Take naps if you need them.
