 Thought of the day

How is your weekend looking?
Here's my to-do list:

  • Doggie Day Spa: Dropping Frizz and Lucy off for a deep clean. With the rain finally holding off, it’s high time they lose the "stray dog" look as well as get those nails trimmed.
  • Shed Exorcism: I’m cleaning out the shed. The last time I ventured in there, I almost had a literal "accident," so I’m mentally preparing to face whatever lurks in that dusty hellscape. Wish me luck—I’m going in.
  • The Final Stretch: Gym time! I’m in the home stretch of my fitness challenge and so close to the goal I can taste it. And by it, I mean pizza. It has been 12 weeks but who's counting. Vigilance is the name of the game this week.
  • Physical Media Renaissance: I’m hitting the thrift stores for Blu-rays. Honestly, I’m fed up with streaming—the ads and the general crappy experience are officially too much. I’m building a library of favorites I can actually own and watch distraction-free.
  • Couch time: Enjoy some popping corn and one of my new movie purchases with the awesome and wonderful Mrs. Shife.

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  1. Our Farmer's Market opened for the season and it was nice to see a lot of vendors and a lot of Camdenites milling about. We bought our scones and Three Cheese Sourdough from the Farm Girl Bakery and cookies from a girl who has been absent for the winter. Then it was Lowe's and stuff for the garden and the car wash and then home top transplant roses.
    But it's a good day.

  2. And here we are just getting into streaming since we've never really had the internet capability before. Of course we still have DVDs (and VHS!) that get watched. Not really by me, though. I read.

    1. Lots of good options still out there for reading.

  3. I have an ever-increasing library of dvd movies and TV series. Goodwill sometimes, eBay, yard sales, Amazon. I have two brand new still in boxes dvd players, too. I hate ads, I hate that content is being edited for no reason. I am so tired of someone else deciding things like what I watch and how I watch them isn't my decision. It *IS* dammit!!!

  5. I'm clinging to my library of DVDs although I need to find copies of some of my special VHS tapes soon while I still can. The quality, as predicted, has degraded a lot. I also have a much bigger TV than I used to. I agree about the streaming! It's such a racket.

  6. Good luck getting though all those projects! The meme about pizza consumption couldn't be truer.

  7. I confess to being kerflummoxed by the last meme...unless it refers to allergies.

Well done on the chores. We are building a mushroom shed.
