Shameless plug .... happy birthday to me!!
Holy cannoli, I am another year older.
I have the day off from work, so I have a nice little day of activities planned for myself:
  • Pump some iron at the gym.
  • Walk my two favorite doggos and enjoy the sunshine.
  • Fire up one of my new 4K DVD birthday presents and enjoy some movie time.
  • Call one of my good friends because it is also his birthday today.
  • Talk to my little brother.
  • Talk to my dad. 
  • Watch Hayden play some softball. 
  • Catch up with Kyle as he has been working all week. 
  • Dinner with my amazing, beautiful and fantastic wife and the kiddos.
  • Be grateful for hearing from family and friends on the anniversary of my birth.

    Happy Birthday Mr. Shife! One thing about getting older is that I find pleasure in just talking with friends and family instead of focusing on the presents that were the highlight of my younger self's birthdays.

    At least you're not as old as you will be next year, cracked me up. Happy Birthday a day late. Sounds like you had a nice day planned for yourself. It's so good to chat with special people. Last night while hubby and I were having cocktails we got a phone call from a high school friend we've not talked to in awhile. We talked with him for about half an hour. We last saw him at our 50th class reunion which was about 7 years ago. He lives out in Phoenix and we're in Ohio. He called to tell us he's moving back to Ohio to be near some family members. We're thrilled and looking forward to his being back.
