Basset flu

Quincy and I picked up a nasty cold/flu virus recently and it is an ass kicker. We had the couch anchored down for the first few days of the week and then I have been trying to maintain a pulse at work without looking too pathetic. If you know someone who is sick avoid them because this really blows.

No Crue for you

When I was in high school I had tickets to see Motley Crue but I got in a little bit of trouble at the hacienda and got grounded. I hated my parents for about 2 weeks for that one and I am sure I was on the verge of moving out of the house because they didn't understand me. Well fast forward 15 years and my wife and I have tickets to see the Motley Crue reunion show. We have had the tickets for months and we are both all geeked up to see the show especially to people watch and smell all that Aqua Net. Anyway I get that nasty cold/flu bug that is going around and I was bedridden for the last two days. So no concert for me again. I am going to have to see them when they have a Vegas lounge act.

Damn brackets

Well the Huskies lost but the frickin' Cowboys lost to the Wildcats. Damn you Wildcats. So suffice to say Quincy will not be defending his title this year. All the scenarios indicate that the best he can do is second place, which everyone knows is the first loser.

Quincy has got the madness

Quincy is gearing up for the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 the next couple of days. His bracket isn't completely busted yet but he might be hitting the sauce hard tonight if UW wins. I know how could a hound dog not pick the Huskies but he just had a gut feeling. And if you saw the size of Quincy's gut you know that is has to have some feelings.

Quincy's basset hound club

Well it looks like Quincy might actually get his own basset hound group. We finally got a reply to our meetup.com group and the gal says she works with a lot of people with bassets. So it looks like we might have our first meeting next month. I just think it is going to be funny watching Quincy run around with a bunch of other bassets. A large group of them can be rather intimidating.

Quincy under house arrest

It has been raining on and off since Saturday so poor Quincy has been trapped in the house. He usually gets at least 3 walks a day so he has been moping around the house because we can't take him out. Well we could take him out but then he would be a mess from ear to toe. They need to invent doggie mud flaps for little dogs like basset hounds so they don't get completely filthy when it is wet outside.

Audio Visual Quincy

I have to work late tonight so Quincy is manning all the electronic devices at the house. He is in charge of taping "24" because I won't make it home in time tonight. We use TiVo for everything but we don't get local channels through our satellite so we have to rely on the VCR and I think ours is older than the basset. Anyway he is at home right now reading the manual to figure out how to tape it. He might just have to draw storyboards for me.

Quincy's Irish heritage

Quincy didn't have time to post yesterday because he was out exploring his Irish heritage. The rumor is that his mom, and she was a bitch, messed around with an Irish setter while Quincy's dad was away on a calendar model shoot. Well it turns out it was just a rumor and there is no Irish blood piercing through Quincy dog's blood.

Quincy likes to help Sarah with her stretching.

The Shut-Eye Master

Quincy dog must have received some training in the dark arts before we got him because he has some mystical skills that lull you to sleep. Case in point, I am sitting on the couch with my chubby buddy watching a little TV and the next thing I know I have drool caked to the side of my face and my wife is telling me is it time to go to bed. And Quincy is spooning with me with a little sly grin on his face. The basset strikes again.
Star Wars may have their jedi masters but the Shifleys have the shut-eye master.

Toughest ticket in town

Quincy and I are working feverishly to acquire NCAA tickets here in Boise but so far we haven't had any luck. All of our leads have turned out to as useless as Quincy in a jumping contest. Everyone who has tickets is selling them for 4 or 5 times their face value. Bastards.
I might have to send the basset out on a top-secret covert mission and see if he can find some duckets.

Quincy's first trip to the park

Well the weather has finally started to get nice so we took the beast out for a walk. It was the first time he went to the park this year so he was pretty happy. He met some new dogs, sent out a few p-mails and dropped a couple logs. All in all it was a pretty good day for Mr. Quincy.

No scholly for Quincy dog

The boys at Eastern have decided to pass on Quincy. He just is a step slow and a little out of shape for their needs so that means he will definitely get a full ride at the University of Idaho. That is only funny to people that live in Idaho and college football junkies.

Another home invasion

Quincy is getting prepared for another round of houseguests. My brother-in-law, who is a football coach at Eastern Washington University, and some of his staff are in town this weekend. They are staying with us and we are hoping they offer Quincy a full-ride. He would make an excellent lineman but he lacks motivation so they may have to find a way to get him excited about practices and stuff.

Quincy and lap dancing

I don't know what it is about our beloved dog but whenever we come home he likes to bury his head in our laps. At first we thought maybe we had some personal hygiene problems that were going undetected by everyone except Quincy. Then I thought maybe he thinks my crotch resembles a pinata because he kept headbutting my nuts. Well after much debate with my wonderful wife I think Quincy was a stripper in a previous life and he is just trying to give us lap dances. I have been putting dollar bills in his collar and to prove my theory correct I am going to put a stripper pole in the house to see how Quincy reacts.

Quincy gets an upgrade

In attempt to make Quincy's life even better we are putting in a sprinkler system in the yard this week. He will now have the lushest grass on the block to lay upon when he is sunbathing his days away this summer.

Duke sucks

Quincy and I watched the Duke vs. UNC game yesterday afternoon. It was a great game and even better because the Heels won 75-73. They were down by 9 with 3 minutes to go and Quincy seemed like he was ready to abandon me because it appeared that the game was over and the stupid dookies had won again. But the big man stayed on and Carolina came back to win the game. So Captain Furry Pants did not get any beatings yesterday and Duke showed how classy of a school they were when Lee Melichoni flipped off the UNC players when the game ended. Duke sucks.

Quincy and road kill

I wake up this morning and Quincy is unusually active. He is up and about as Sarah and I get ready for work. Basically he is stalking us to remind us that he really needs to go for a walk this morning or he might hire a circus midget to attack us. Anyway, after being hounded (ha-ha) for 30 minutes I take the beast for his morning stroll. Well it turns that Quincarelli wanted to revisit a spot on the road where 2 pastries met their maker and were now road kill. He had found them yesterday when we took him out after we go home from work. So the little basset waited all night and morning just so he could back to the murder scene of some twinkies and try to excavate them from the concrete.

Quincy is "Lost" again

Me and the round mound of hound snuggled up for a nice episode of "Lost" last night. I swear I get more confused every time I watch that show. Anyhow me and Quinc are pretty bummed because there are no new epsiodes until April 13. That is a long friggin' time to wait for a new episode but I guess good things come to those who wait. I am still waiting for Angelina Jolie to knock on my door.

Quincy's spring fever

Now that winter is nearly over Quincy has to shed some of his winter weight. At his last check up he weighed 54 pounds, which was just a few weeks ago, so he needs to drop some lbs. immediately. He has his little heart set on wearing a two-piece this summer so he has some work to do.

Quincy hates that bitch

Quincy and I were flipping channels during commercials for "24" and we saw Omarosa, the chick from "The Apprentice," on "Fear Factor." She is a bitch! I don't know if she plays it up for the camera but that chick needs to visit a proctologist and get that bug out of her ass. She is not a nice person and I don't think Quincy and I will be sending her a Christmas card.
